The U.S. Forage Export Council (USFEC) is a sub-committee of the National Hay Association (NHA), a non-profit organization established in 1895 and committed to integrity within the hay industry. There are separate dues and conditions for membership in USFEC: In addition to being a member in good standing in the NHA, companies must own and operate ‘brick & mortar’ (i.e. permanent) compress facilities based in the United States, demonstrating significant financial commitment to the health and prosperity of the export forage industry.

Applicants for membership must agree to a set of USFEC codes and practices. Applications are reviewed by all members who consider the applicant’s staff, history and reputation regarding how they deal with regulations, employees, community as well as customers and suppliers.
